What is FSH? & Why Should I Test?

Curious about your fertility timeline? The Bird&Be Ovarian Reserve Screening Test measures your FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone) levels through a simple urine test you can do entirely at home. FSH is produced by your pituitary gland and plays a crucial role in your reproductive system. Higher levels can indicate lower ovarian reserve; FSH does not measure egg quality.

This ovarian reserve screening test is over 99% accurate compared to FSH blood tests, giving you screening information you can discuss with your healthcare professional. Whether you're struggling to conceive or just planning for the future, this test helps flag rising FSH levels (which suggest decreasing ovarian reserve) so you can seek further care early if needed. Results appear in just 10 minutes. No waiting, no labs, and no appointments needed.

✔ Get answers about your fertility in just 10 minutes

✔ An inexpensive and easy screening tool for low ovarian reserve

✔ Flag potential issues early and seek medical care if needed

Can I use this test result to understand my overall fertility?

This at-home urine test screens FSH, one marker of ovarian reserve. An elevated result may be a reason to discuss further assessment with your healthcare professional.

It does not measure egg quality, determine an exact egg count, or tell you whether you can become pregnant. A low FSH result does not guarantee fertility, and an elevated result does not mean pregnancy is impossible.

Tips

Track your cycle carefully to identify the correct testing days (3, 4, and 5).

Use your first morning urine and avoid excess fluid intake after midnight before testing.

Test over two complete cycles for the most reliable assessment of your FSH levels.

Make sure you've been off hormonal birth control for at least one complete cycle before testing. (since it can impact your natural hormone levels)

Note: The test strip and urine have to be at room temperature (that’s 50°F to 86°F, or 10°C to 30°C). (Don’t refrigerate!)
