The Waite Symptom Cheat Sheet
Because Google is a minefield and pregnancy comes with a lot of “...wait, is this okay?”
Here’s your soft, grounded guide to what’s usually normal and what’s worth checking in about. Trust your gut. You know your body better than anyone.
Usually Normal, But Always Annoying
- Nausea that comes and goes (even after the first trimester)
- Mild cramping that feels like stretching or gas
- Dizziness when you stand up too fast
- Light spotting after sex or a cervical check
- Round ligament pain (a quick stabby feeling in your side or groin)
- Mild swelling in feet or hands, especially at the end of the day
- Vaginal discharge that’s white or clear
- Mood swings, vivid dreams, and crying because the dog looked at you weird
If it eases with rest, hydration, or position changes it’s probably normal. But you can always check in just to be sure.
Check In With Your Provider If…
- Persistent, sharp abdominal pain
- Bleeding that soaks a pad in under an hour
- No fetal movement after 24–26 weeks (or sudden decrease after it’s been regular)
- Severe headache, vision changes, or sudden swelling in hands/face
- Leaking fluid that feels like a trickle or gush
- A gut feeling that something isn’t right even if you “can’t explain it”
🤍 You’re never being dramatic. You’re being a good advocate for your baby and your body. Call, ask, rest, repeat.
